WP 2 Monitoring Capabilities of Electrical Distribution Networks
Here, the key areas for research will be targeting cutting edge with respect to:
• State Prediction for Power Supply and Demand Matching
• Self-healing, putting focus on fast fault location identification. This includes the development of enhanced monitoring capability while investigating and determining network margins under highly stochastic nature.
• Demand response -- dynamic assessment and prediction of control actions in various parts of the distribution network.
• Communication Architecture to develop technology and strategies for the significant amount of information exchange needed to properly operate distributed generation systems and microgrid.
Participating universities are TU/e and AGH. Main industrial partner is Alliander.
For this work package, a MSc in Electrical Engineering or ICT is suitable.
