WP 3 Thermal Energy Generation and Distribution

In this work package, the focus is on system performance assessment using a variety of modeling tools, in combination with development of innovative technology for: next generation district heating/cooling networks, integration of thermal energy storage, industrial surplus heat transportation using the “heat on wheels” approach, and integration of free-cooling.

The participating universities are KTH, EMN, IST, and PoliTo. Main industrial partners are BNLCE and Veolia.
For this work Package, a suitable background is a MSc in Energy engineering, including specializations in MSc Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
