Master thesis opportunities for SELECT and SENSE students - Industrial presentations

On Monday 21st Oct 2013, SELECT and SENSE students had the opportunity to meet with representatives of ABB and Vattenfall companies at Heat and Power Technology Department ,KTH.
 

Annika Lokrantz, Technical coordinator of R&D projects within converter valves, electrical design, HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) at ABB started the session by making an introduction of ABB, ABBs role in renewable technologies, HVDC technology and R&D at HVDC/HVDC section. Thereafter, the ABB Thesis Work Program was presented by Catrin Wiström and Karin Wigert. The students were given information to seek for relevant thesis projects at ABB.

Fredrik Carlsson, Senior R&D engineer at Vattenfall was the next presenter, who introduced Vattenfall Company to the SELECT and SENSE students. Different focus areas of R&D at Vattenfall and examples of R&D projects such as pumped hydro storage and smart grids were part of Fredrik’s presentation.

Tina Almqvist, Staff Function HR at Vattenfall, (Employer Branding & Student Relations) was the last speaker who answered the students questions about the thesis work projects at Vattenfall and the possibility of defining new thesis projects by SELECT and SENSE students.
