3 KIC InnoEnergy nominees (Linkesh Diwan, SELECT 2011-2013, Muhammad Rizwan Awan, RenE 2011-2013 and Eduardo Appleyard, SELECT 2010-2012 ) for EIT CHANGE Award were selected

The EIT “Change Agents and Next Generation of Entrepreneurs” Award is new for 2013, and has been designed to showcase the young entrepreneurs of the future that are emerging from EIT-labelled and KIC education and training programmes.

Who can apply?
Any present or past student or alumnus from a KIC educational programme, who is 35 or younger, can be eligible to win a CH.A.N.G.E Award for the following achievement(s):
An innovative idea, project, service or product, process, or new business model initiated and/or implemented in practice by an individual, showcasing the pro-active attitude and entrepreneurial drive which have been facilitated by EIT/KIC educational activities and which resulted in a change.

These achievements could include: 

  • A start-up created during or following participating in an EIT/KIC educational programme.
  • A student who has used their initiative to come up with an idea for a new product/service during theirinternship, which is further developed by their host company.
  • An innovative process that a past student has implemented with the company or organisation they’re working for.
  • An innovative idea that’s brought about a change at policy level.
     

What do the nominees have to do?
During the awards day, the CH.A.N.G.E Award nominees take part in interview sessions, presenting themselves and describing their achievements.

 

What can they win?
Each year, there will be three CH.A.N.G.E Award winners – one from each of the KICs (Climate-KIC, EIT ICT Labs and KIC InnoEnergy). The prizes they will win include:

  • A tailor-made mentoring and coaching programme.
  • Increased visibility by having their achievements published on the EIT website.
  • The right to call themselves an EIT CH.A.N.G.E Award winner.

The 2013 nominees have now been announced and the winners will be decided during the awards ceremony on 12 November 2013 by a panel of expert judges.
